The Finnish Lapphund Club Of Great Britain welcomes everyone with an interest in the breed, from dog lovers wanting to find out more, to experienced owners and breeders. Whether you own a Lapphund or not, we hope you'll find the site informative. The Finnish Lapphund Club of Great Britain is the founder breed club and is the only national UK club that is recognized and supported by the Kennel Club. Our aims are to protect and further interest in the breed. We work to promote the health and well-being of Lapphunds, to encourage the breed type and to offer advice to new and prospective owners.

The Health section of this site gives test results of dogs used for breeding. We also supply contact information for Breeders and hold events such as breed seminars and training weekends.

We have an active showing community for which we award Annual Trophies, in April we hold our Breed Club Championship Show - a highlight in the Lappy calendar and September we hold our Open Show.

We have Versatility Awards to recognise the achievements of members and their dogs in a wide range of activities from agility, working trials and tracking to Good Citizenship and PAT dogs.

The club's Committee members are here to help and their contact details are on the site. If you are unsure who to contact then please get in touch with the Secretary at

We rely on members to support and fund the club for activities such as promoting the health and welfare of the breed, so please do join.

The fee is very modest and you'll receive a regular Newsletter all about the breed, events, shows and news. Membership forms can be downloaded and printed from the Membership area.

We look forward to you joining and hope you'll come and meet the Lapphunds at Shows and social events around the country.

Why not check out our official Facebook group. - with over 1100* members from around the world it is a useful resource for all Lapphund owners. Please note that this is a new Facebook group created on the 1/2/15, and can be easily mistaken for a non-official group. The official group can be found here.
