Membership

Members support and care for the breed in the UK. You may be looking for the latest on health issues, advice on care and training or like minded members for Lappie walks and competitive showing. As a member you'll get a regular newsletter to keep you up to date and the committee members are always there - for advice on finding a puppy or queries on health, showing or activities.

The club is the only club in the UK which is recognised and supported by the Kennel Club but we receive no funding from the KC and all committee posts are voluntary. We want to continue with work on improving health and welfare as well as showing, so please join, your support is greatly appreciated!

In the background, the committee liaises with the Kennel Club and the British Veterinary Association on health, genetics and surveys and we manage judges' lists and organise events and training. We also have a Health & Welfare function to support owners and their dogs if needed. We aim to represent the views of our members through consultation.

ANNUAL RENEWAL OF MEMBERSHIP - DUE BY 1ST JANUARY EACH YEAR
Please send your renewals in, even though the deadline for renewals for this year has passed. Your membership form will be treated as if you were a new member - see the Rules for details. Download the Renewal Form here. You can choose to pay by cheque or by setting up a Standing Order with your bank.

Joining the club means making a commitment to follow the Rules and Code of Ethics, which safeguard the health and welfare of Lappies and support responsible ownership. Breeders also have to commit to health standards e.g. carrying out specific health tests before using their dogs for breeding. The Rules also cover day to day management of the club such as membership, voting and accounting.

The annual membership fees are as follows:
Joint UK: £12
Individual UK: £10
Junior (under 16) UK: £3.50
Overseas (outside UK): £15
